Your AITP Washington DC Membership Networking Portal Box

Hello! I appreciate that you took the time to visit the profile of your Chapter VP of Communications.

I am an INTP deutrolearning Project Management Professional (PMP) with technical foundations Open Source software, Information Technology and Web System Development. Since 1992, I have used Open Source software as a platform to rapidly and inexpensively advance my knowledge of IT. Using this software, I have developed several projects, the pinnacle of which was the opportunity to build a Multimedia Visualization Laboratory at NOAA NESDIS (http://www.nnvl.noaa.gov).

As the VP of Communications, please allow me to extend an invite to use this site, regardless of whether you are an AITP member, or are aspiring to be one :). AITP membership means that you not only are a technology professional, but you network and share information as a professional in an industry of other professionals. Stephen Covey expressed it best in his recent book, "The 8th Habit". The 8th Habit is "Find your voice, and help others find theirs", which is about mentorship, and advancing within the ranks through teaching others what you know.

Members of AITP have an obligation to their fellow members an members of their profession to "Endeavor to share thier special knowledge." We hope that you will become a member and participate.

Do you need to be a member to participate? No. You can be a guest speaker, you can contribute on the website, start a Special Interest Group (SIG), and attend our meetings. Is it a good idea to be a member? Absolutely. You receive discounts on AITP events that help you advance your own understanding of technolgy from specialists who are expert in the subject domain.

In any case, I am sure you are wondering who that handsome guy is in the upper left hand corner. That is me, when I was in the US Navy Ceremonial Guard in Washington DC, circa 1992. I encourage all of you to create a profile that helps others know you. Please post your best picture, as it provides a face with the talent and will help us recognize you faster at meetings.

All my best!

Saul,

I need to talk with you about the Wash DC ning site. We have created a new banner for the Association ning site as well as the Dallas Chapter ning site and would like all chapters to use this banner. We are asking that the old AITP logo be removed from all online sites.

Our Association web team will create a banner for your Wash DC chapter ning site. Just give me a call at 972-682-5453 at your earliest convenience.

Also, the Dallas Chapter needs some assistance on learning how to set up the PayPal registration you all have on your site. Your expertise would be appreciated.

Cheers!
