Ms. Garris-Taylor works directly with organizations' senior leaders to collaboratively develop training and development programs. She continues to perform this type of work because she understands the value of training and human development, and also enjoys analyzing and understanding a given organization’s business goals and objectives in effort to prescribe, manage and monitor the development, implementation and assessment of the best eLearning programs that successfully attain the business goals and objectives with a considerable amount of Return On Investment (ROI).

Among the many functions Ms. Garris-Taylor performs as a Professional eLearning and Development for Adult Learners Consultant are those of 1) establishing a collaborative, bottom-line-oriented relationship with senior leaders and co-team members, 2) participating in maintaining and/or re-establishing the most appropriate organization culture, 3) participating in applying the most effective management efforts to create and sustain a healthy organization climate, and 4) participating in the management, development, implementation and assessment of the necessary strategies and programs to bring forth the most effective and efficient collaboratively developed eLearning based training and development programs.

A graduate of Howard University, Ms. Garris-Taylor has served as a Professional eLearning and Development for Adult Learners and/or Education Technology/Instructional Design Consultant to Northern Virginia Community College (2003–2008), United Negro College Fund (UNCF), Inc. (2001-2002), Howard University (2000-2001 & 2003-2004), Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising (Software Applications & Technical support, 1995 & 1996-1997), Cleary Gotlieb Steen & Hamilton Law Firm (Software Applications & Technical Support, 1994), Essex County College (Software Applications 1992-1993), and Vernon Township Public School District (Software Applications & Technical Support, 1986-1990).
Ms. Garris-Taylor’s professional consulting services also include those of providing research, design, development, and delivery of 1) Information Technology software applications and 2) training course content for text book style classroom and eLearning Content Management Systems. While at UNCF, Inc.’s headquarters, Ms. Garris-Taylor served as an Education Technology consultant for UNCF’s three year Technology Enhancement Capital Campaign (TECC). Launched in January, 2000, the initiative provided the necessary financial and technical support for the majority of the traditional Historically Black Colleges & Universities in order to give students and faculty the same technology available to majority institutions, and to build an infrastructure that would support the increased usage of technology, especially in the areas of teaching and learning. Ms. Garris-Taylor assisted in researching, preparing and evaluating Request For Proposals (RFPs) and providing technical training support to internal personnel.
